Once upon a time there was a rebellious vine…
It all started with a harvest of exceptional quality. It happened in 1820, when the grapes of the Porto area were of incomparable tastiness, giving rise to a great demand for that nectar. A demand that, in the following years, could only be satisfied through the addition of spirit to the fermenting must. Here is the Porto, an aromatized wine that today meets the soft grappa par excellence of Piedmont: that of Moscato. This last one ages at least eighteen months in fine woods, finishing the seasoning in barrels already used for Porto, giving really interesting scents and aromas.
